Joyful Voices is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults in private lessons (Dubai and online) and when they use Joyful Voices Studio. This page is a public summary; a fuller written policy can be provided to parents on request.

1. Scope

  • 1:1 and small-group singing lessons with Eleanor
  • Online video lessons
  • Use of the Joyful Voices Studio app by students aged 13+

The App age gate is 13+ (self-declaration). Younger children should not create accounts. Under-18s in lessons should have a parent or guardian involved in booking and expectations.

2. Our commitments

  • Professional, appropriate communication — preferably via studio email / agreed channels, not personal social DMs
  • Online lessons on a dedicated professional video account (not ad-hoc personal accounts)
  • No recording of under-18 lessons without prior written parental consent
  • Parents may be asked to remain nearby / on-camera for online lessons with minors
  • App privacy defaults favour minimisation — no public student profiles or social feeds

3. Voice data and under-18s

Practice in the App processes voice on-device and stores numerical metrics. See the Privacy Policy. Parents/guardians of 13–17-year-olds should review that policy and the in-app consent prompts before practice sessions.

4. Reporting concerns

If you have a safeguarding concern about a lesson, the App, or a student:

In an emergency where someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

5. Professional standards (ongoing)

Eleanor is working through recommended studio safeguards (professional indemnity insurance, DBS / equivalent checks via music-teacher bodies where applicable, and a one-page formal policy). Status of certificates can be confirmed on request for paying under-18 clients.
